The terms that apply to our quotations and roofing work.

Introduction and acceptance
These terms and conditions set out the basis on which First Rate Roofing Services Ltd, trading as First Rate Roofing, provides roofing services. By requesting a quotation, accepting our estimate or instructing us to carry out work, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Definitions
- We, us, our means First Rate Roofing Services Ltd, trading as First Rate Roofing.
- You, the customer means the person or business who requests or receives our services.
- Works means the roofing services described in our quotation.
Quotations and estimates
Our quotations are free and, unless stated otherwise, remain valid for 30 days from the date of issue. All quotations are prepared on the basis of the information available at the time and are subject to a full survey. If a survey or the works reveal conditions that could not reasonably have been foreseen, we will discuss any changes with you before proceeding.
Contracts and acceptance of work
A binding contract is formed when you accept our quotation in writing, verbally or by conduct, and we confirm that we will carry out the works. At that point these terms apply to the works in full.
Pricing and payment
Prices are as set out in your quotation. Where a deposit is required for materials, this will be agreed in advance. Payment terms will be confirmed in your quotation or invoice, and payment is due within the period stated. We reserve the right to charge reasonable interest on overdue accounts in accordance with the law.
Variations and additional work
If you request changes, or if additional work is needed once the roof is opened up or inspected more closely, we will explain the work required and agree any additional cost with you before carrying it out. We will not charge for unforeseen additional work without your agreement.
Access and site conditions
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property and the areas where the works are to be carried out, including access for scaffolding, materials and equipment where needed. Please let us know about any hazards, restrictions or shared access arrangements before work begins.
Guarantees and workmanship
We take pride in the quality of our work and provide a workmanship guarantee on the works we carry out, the details of which will be confirmed with your quotation. Materials are covered by the relevant manufacturer warranties, which we will pass on to you. Guarantees do not cover damage caused by factors outside our control, such as extreme weather, structural movement, third-party interference or lack of maintenance.
Insurance
We are fully insured, including public liability cover, for the roofing works we carry out. Evidence of our cover is available on request.
Liability
We will carry out the works with reasonable care and skill. Our liability is limited to a reasonable amount in relation to the works, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Cancellations and consumer rights
Where you are a consumer and the contract is made away from our business premises, you have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, without giving a reason. If you ask us to begin work within the cancellation period and then cancel, we may charge for the work carried out up to that point. To cancel, please contact us using the details below.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
